This past week, God has shown himself and his wonderful plan in so many ways. I have learned so much through the events that have taken place this past week. On Saturday, we tried to have an outreach on the beach by hosting a free volleyball tournament, handing out free water, and using soulariums to start up deep and spiritual conversations with people hanging out on the beach. But, that plan didn’t work out how we had planned. The beach patrol wouldn’t allow us to have such a big tournament without a permit, which should have been an avoided situation because some staff and students had spoken to them and asked their permission earlier. So, we had to pack up, but we still got a chance to talk to some people and explain who we were. Nothing much (that we saw of anyway) came out of that outreach. Later that night though, a few of us stayed up to worship out on the front porch (past bedtime) We were sitting in a circle, Emily playing guitar, Diego playing a drum thing, and everyone was praising God and enjoying His presence. Our neighbors heard us singing and thought it sounded pretty good. A few guys came over and asked us to play Lord I Lift your Name On High. And…to make a long story short, God used his praise music to draw people closer to him. It was a great feeling to be praising God with our neighbors!
Also this week, Proverbs 31 grabbed my heart. This passage is about being a noble woman—a Godly woman, who fears the Lord (is in awe of the Lord). A few of the verses really stood out to me. Verse 17: “She sets about her work vigorously; her arms strong for her tasks.” This really helps me to be a stronger worker, and not to be lazy. Verse 20: “She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.” This verse really captures my heart. My desire is to help people, especially the unfortunate, and to be generous and loving to those who need it. I pray that God will use my life to help the poor. Verse 25: “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” This is a huge encouragement to be faithful to my Father, because he gives me strength, and not to worry about the future because it is in His hands.
I can only plan, if it is my Father’s will. My life is His plan, I surely did not create myself!
Hmm...that’s about it. Have a good one : )
